We have made it to the LAST DAY of Pre-Kindergarten! Today's big event is our Car Rally from 3-4 this afternoon. Miss Theresa and I would LOVE to see you all from a distance to give you air hugs and send you on your way to begin your summer break so be sure to come by the school between 3 and 4!

This day always brings with it mixed emotions for me. While I am so very proud of the children for how they have learned and grown this year, I am also so sad to see them go. This year is especially hard as our time in person was cut so short. Kinda wish we could have a re-do:) Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for making this year so special for Miss Theresa and myself. We love you and your children SO very much. We wish you all a super fun summer filled with many new memories made with family and friends. Don't hesitate to reach out to us should you need some extra company at a summer BBQ or trip to the park! Have a wonderful summer everyone and we look forward to seeing you back at school in September!

Happy Tuesday Friends! Only 2 more days left of Pre-K! Because we won't be able to be together for field day this year, I thought it would be fun to bring field day to you! Today you will be designing and creating your own obstacle course at your house! You can do this inside or outside, up to you:). You will find everything you need to know if you log into your seesaw account. Don't forget to post a video of you completing your course on your seesaw account! Have fun creating!

Happy Monday Everyone! We are down to just 3 short days left in Pre-Kindergarten! I can't believe it! This week we will continue our focus on fun ocean activities and projects. Friendly Reminder that there will not be office hours this week. For Monday and Tuesday, I have assigned your child an activity on Seesaw so should be able to just log onto their account and complete the assignment. If you want to go a little deeper today, your child can hop onto Lexia and practice their next assignment for 15 minutes. Don't forget to go by SPS to pick up your brown bags and drop off your math manipulatives. There is more information about this in today's welcome video. Have a marvelous Monday everyone!

Good Morning Pre-Kindergarten Students,

This is our last Kelso lesson for the year. Enjoy the Willow Pond Story: Houseboat. I've also attached the Kelso Puppet making activity so that you can color and create your very own Kelso Puppet. You will need a small brown bag, scissors, glue, and markers. Please practice using Kelso's Choices over the summer. Remember, you are smart, strong, & brave problem solvers.

Have a wonderful summer and I'll see you in Kindergarten!

IB Experience Project

2020-06-05

Welcome to our final IB Experience Project! Kudos to all of you on an amazing school year. Despite some unique challenges thrown your way, you persisted and kept on learning. To wrap up the year, we are going to focus on the learner profile trait, Reflective. The end of the year is a great time to look back and reflect on our successes and challenges. I'd like you to think about one of the Approaches To Learning (ATLs) that you worked on this year, maybe your ATL goal with your teacher. Think about: what is difficult for you with this skill? How have you improved? What did you to practice and improve this skill? What do you want to work on next? You can choose how you complete this reflection -- email me a written piece, some artwork, or simply have a conversation with your family.

Thanks again for all your hard work. I wish you the best!

Happy Thursday Everyone! Today we will be exploring more about our new Learner Profile Trait for June which is Balanced. Students who are BALANCED are healthy and are aware that eating properly and exercising is important in their lives. They understand that it is important to have a balance between the physical and mental aspects of their bodies. They spend time doing many different things. They balance work and play. Parents, here are some ways you can encourage your child to be balanced at home this summer.

● Encourage your child to participate in a wide variety of structured activities.
● During less structured time, also be aware of the activities that your child is participating in. Generally active kids should take time for quiet reading or reflection; students who spend a lot of time drawing or reading, should be encouraged to also exercise and play.
● Discuss the food groups with your child. Spend a few minutes during a mealtime deciding if what your family is eating is balanced.
● Allow time to slow down and focus on mindfulness.

Please take a moment to watch the videos below and share 1-2 things your child is going to do this summer to practice being balanced. Have a wonderful weekend everyone and I look forward to seeing you back for our last 3 days of Distance Learning on Monday, June 7th!
