Seven Peaks Joins the Global Schools Program

At Seven Peaks School, we believe that education should not only prepare children for academic success, but also empower them to make a positive impact in the world. This commitment has always been at the heart of our mission—and this year, we are honored to share some exciting news that affirms this vision.

On behalf of the Global Schools Program, we received the following message:

“We thank you for taking the time to sign the Schools' Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals. It is with great pleasure that we welcome Seven Peaks School to our global community of schools and educators. We are proud to support Seven Peaks School in becoming a leader in this international education movement.”

Becoming part of the Global Schools Program connects Seven Peaks to a worldwide network of schools and educators committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 goals—ranging from quality education and climate action to reduced inequalities and peace and justice—are not just global aspirations. They are a call to action for schools like ours to model leadership, sustainability, and compassion.

Leading the Way at Seven Peaks

This exciting step forward was made possible through the dedication of Kori Donley, our 6th grade math and science teacher, and Samantha Lyke, our PYP Coordinator. As Seven Peaks’ representatives in the Global Schools Program, Kori and Samantha have been instrumental in exploring how the SDGs can become an even more intentional part of our daily learning and school culture.

Their work builds on what already exists within our IB framework. The SDGs align seamlessly with the IB mission—to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world. From project-based learning in the PYP to real-world explorations in the MYP, our students are already practicing the kind of critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving the SDGs call for.

Why This Matters

Joining the Global Schools Program deepens our ability to connect what students learn in the classroom with the challenges and opportunities of the wider world. It is an affirmation that our students are not only future leaders—they are change-makers today.

At Seven Peaks, we are proud to stand alongside schools around the globe who are committed to the same vision: to inspire students to act with curiosity, responsibility, and courage in service of a better world.
