Pumpkins, Purpose, and the Power of Community

Pumpkins, Purpose, and the Power of Community

At Seven Peaks, we talk often about Community — how we’re connected, how we listen, and how we find joy in coming together. This past weekend, our families brought that value to life in the most delightfully unexpected way — by loading up trucks full of pumpkins and heading out to Four Roots Ranch to share them with some very happy animals!

After our fall festivities wrapped up, we found ourselves surrounded by pumpkins — big ones, small ones, and every lopsided gourd in between. Instead of sending them to the compost bin, our families found a creative and sustainable way to “recycle” them — donating the pumpkins to Four Roots Ranch, a local nonprofit dedicated to animal rescue, education, and regenerative agriculture.

What began as a simple idea turned into a joyful community effort. Parents and students teamed up to collect and deliver pumpkins, turning what could have been a cleanup chore into a day of laughter, muddy boots, and meaningful connection. The animals at Four Roots Ranch — from pigs to goats to cows — enjoyed a seasonal feast, and our students got to see firsthand how small acts of care can ripple outward to make a difference.

This kind of experience reflects what Community means at Seven Peaks. We value involvement, belonging, and fun in our everyday school lives. We learn by doing — by connecting with one another, by considering the world around us, and by finding ways to be kind and purposeful together.

Whether it’s sharing pumpkins, volunteering locally, or simply showing up for one another, our community continues to model what it means to make a positive difference — with compassion, curiosity, and a touch of creativity.

Because sometimes, building community starts with something as simple as a pumpkin — and a shared sense of purpose.
