Sami Sherwood- 5th Grade Teacher
Sami is an educator with over a decade of experience in classroom teaching, STEM education, curriculum development, and environmental education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from St. Norbert College and a Master of Science in Environmental Education and Natural Science from Southern Oregon University.
Most recently, she worked as a Curriculum Specialist at the Poudre Learning Center and in Greeley-Evans School District 6, where she developed hands-on science programming and supported both student and teacher learning.
In addition to classroom teaching, Sami has worked in various national parks across the western United States as an environmental educator, wildlife guide, and outdoor instructor. Sami also served with AmeriCorps supporting a dual immersion program for elementary students, where she helped provide engaging and inclusive learning experiences for diverse learners.
Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time outdoors skiing, hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking. Sami is passionate about creating inquiry-driven learning environments where students feel empowered to explore, think critically, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Sarah Noble - Lunch Program Coordinator
Sarah is thrilled to be joining the Seven Peaks staff and helping develop the school's lunch program. Born in England and raised in the Bahamas, she came to the United States at age 14 to attend boarding school and University, before earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance. Her education laid the foundation for a career in business entrepreneurship, including 11 years managing a small publishing firm on Maui, before her path naturally evolved toward holistic wellness and community health.
Throughout her life, she has lived and worked in seven different countries, experiences that fostered a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, meaningful connection, and the importance of strong communities. Sarah and her family moved to Bend seven years ago and have loved calling Central Oregon home ever since.
As both a Seven Peaks parent and staff member, Sarah feels especially grateful to serve a school that means so much to her family. Her children, Jackson and Sophia, are both students in the Middle Years Program, and she values the school's commitment to nurturing curious, compassionate, and healthy learners.
For the past decade, Sarah has been dedicated to holistic wellness and women's mental health, with a passion for supporting healthy, balanced lifestyles. She believes that nourishing food is a powerful way to support children's health, learning, and sense of community, and she looks forward to helping shape a lunch program that reflects those values.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible with her family and friends. Whether she's surfing, trail running, hiking, snowboarding, or practicing yoga, she believes that time in nature is essential for restoring balance, fostering connection, and supporting overall well-being. She feels fortunate to call Bend home.
Katie Litzenberger - 6 - 8th Design Teacher
Katie has 16 years of teaching experience in a variety of schools, including IB schools and schools abroad. As an experienced MYP teacher, she has developed a deep passion for education and for creating exciting learning experiences. Katie earned her bachelor's degree from Gonzaga University and holds both a master's degree in Education and a master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Notre Dame. Her son, Owen, is an incoming seventh grader, so she already feels connected to the wonderful Seven Peaks community.
Outside of teaching, Katie loves traveling with her family to faraway places and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Whether she is hiking or exploring, Katie loves staying active. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and searching for unique antiques. Katie is originally from the Bay Area but has called Bend home since 2022.
Katie believes that being a lifelong learner enriches her personal and professional life, and she looks forward to getting to know your families in this upcoming school year.
