Giving Back to the Community
Imagine developing citizens who move forward with grace and dignity in pursuit of helping others less fortunate. Imagine developing citizens with a refined sense of humanity and compassion. Imagine developing citizens who have the skills to solve problems through planning and process, and the empathy and kindness to follow through with goodwill.
Imagine this citizen is your child. Imagine all of this beginning at Seven Peaks School.
PURPOSE
The "Giving Back to the Community" program reinforces Seven Peaks’ foundation of Core Virtues and Core Knowledge while actively participating in programs that benefit local, national and international organizations and citizens. Students gain knowledge, grow character and learn civic skills involvement in organized and age-appropriate community service.
BENEFITS
The student experiences increased social awareness and empathy. Student’s social behavior and character improves. Interest in academics increases as students are exposed to new and varied areas within the local and global society.*
The community benefits from the obvious goodwill of the program. More importantly, the community gains citizens who have a lifelong interest, willingness, and capability to serve. The school benefits from the increased ties to the community and the support that follows.
OPPORTUNITIES
All approved Giving Back projects count towards hours for students involved in Sparrow Club and as Seven Peaks Volunteer Hours for parents.
