Board of Directors The Seven Peaks’ Board of Directors helps everyone at Seven Peaks reach higher. These community and educational leaders share their expertise and commitment to kids to ensure our school’s high standards. Corey Parks, President Children at Seven Peaks: Two second grade girls and one Junior-K girl. Favorite part about being on the Board: I appreciate participating in the School’s leadership with other parents willing to offer their time and talents for the benefit of all the students. The Board’s contributions to the School are meaningful to its efficient ongoing operation. Responsibilities: My responsibilities include providing direct support to our Principal, organizing Board meetings and agendas, and dealing with issues related to parents and the School’s business. Best thing about Seven Peaks: Our staff, teachers and families all share in a commitment to not only educate our children, but also teach them the value of education, the importance of social responsibility and the significance of community. As a parent, it’s extremely rewarding to see these things come together in my children. Volunteer Activities: My principal volunteer activity at Seven Peaks has been my participation on the Board. Children at Seven Peaks: 4th and 7th boys Favorite part about being on the Board: I like being on the Board because I’m always learning and growing. Responsibilities: Vice President and Fundraising Chair Best thing about Seven Peaks: The families and the sense of community we share. Volunteer Activities: I’ve volunteered in nearly every job at Seven Peaks over the past nine years, from taking the garbage out to overseeing fundraising activities. Shawn Holm, Treasurer Children at Seven Peaks: Carolyn King Children at Seven Peaks: One 1st grade boy Favorite part about being on the Board: I love being part of an energetic and conscientious team striving to meet the challenges of Seven Peaks’ growth while maintaining the school’s original premises. Responsibilities: Strategic planning Best thing about Seven Peaks: Seven Peaks is a fabulous community of educators, students and parents working together to make learning a safe and thrilling adventure. Volunteer Activities: PAG, staff appreciation, classroom volunteer, ice cream social, new parent social, kindergarten basket auction chair Scott Lovejoy Children at Seven Peaks: One 1st grade boy, one Kindergarten boy, one preschool girl Favorite part about being on the Board: It’s important to me to be actively involved in the education of my children and the children of friends. I’ve found all the board members to be highly committed to the success of the school and its students. With the support of parents and staff, our great school and its students will continue to grow, thrive and prosper. Responsibilities: Strategic planning Best thing about Seven Peaks: I’m gratified to see the first-rate professionalism of the teachers, administration and staff, and the deep commitment of Seven Peaks School parents to their students and the school in general. Volunteer Activities: Sharon Rockett Children at Seven Peaks: 5th grade girl and 6th grade boy Favorite part about being on the Board: The Board works closely with school administration and staff to help the school be the best it can be. The Board is open to new ideas from everyone involved in the school. Responsibilities: Secretary, strategic planning Best thing about Seven Peaks: As a former teacher who had close to 175 students each day, I value Seven Peaks’ small class sizes and personal attention. We also chose Seven Peaks for its interesting and challenging curriculum, excellent teaching staff and welcoming and safe environment. Volunteer Activities: Weekly help with middle school math, substitute teaching for all grades, help with cross-country practices, and lots of jobs in the classroom. Children at Seven Peaks: 5th grade girl and 7th grade boy Favorite part about being on the Board: Seven Peaks is formalizing many of its structures and traditions. This is an exciting time as we work together to establish and refine our vision for Seven Peaks’ future. Responsibilities: Strategic planning Best thing about Seven Peaks: The tone set by our administration is positive and encouraging. There is a general feeling of openness and a willingness to embrace change, when warranted, that permeates the school’s culture. This leads to a sense of discovery in the classroom, which is essential for any healthy educational institution. Volunteer Activities: Chaperoning Wintermeister, reading in the classroom, assisting with Field Day, facilitating a portion of faculty orientation, serving on the Strategic Planning Committee. |
